Press Release: EPS Merges With Business Support Systems (BSS)

15 May 2000

Consolidation Of Australia's Leading Suppliers Of Property Management And Leasing Software

Australia's leading suppliers of property management and leasing software, Eastcoast Property Software (EPS) and Business Support Systems (BSS), have merged operations to create one of the world's leading software providers in the tenant property management space.

The merged entity will be known as Eastcoast Property Software. Both organisations will combine their skills and key features of each product to deliver the most advanced property management software solution available on the market.

BSS products expand the range of functionality offered by Eastcoast Property Software to include advanced franchise management and intellectual property management. These areas are of core concern to many retailers.

EPS managing director, Adam Ramshaw says the merged company will become one of the most advanced providers of tenant-focused property management software.

"Combining the abilities and key attributes of the software of both organisations will allow us to provide new products and services not able to be offered if EPS and BSS had remained separate entities."

EPS software is designed specifically for retail tenants to monitor multiple property leases, franchise agreements and intellectual property for both large and small retailers.

The software is designed to help retailers:

  • Increase revenue by helping make faster more informed store location decisions;
  • Lower costs by improving occupancy cost management, which can account for between 10 and 20% of a retailer's total cost base;
  • Lower risk by managing date-critical information relating to leases and actively managing franchise agreements; and,
  • Improve business planning by providing accurate and simple information (through benchmarking capabilities) to generate budgeting, analysis and reporting for an entire property portfolio.

The merged company now has a user-base that includes many of Australia's largest retailers as well as other organisations that require high-end property management support software. BSS brings to EPS a client base which includes Harvey Norman, Bakers Delight, Flight Centre, Lenard's Poultry and Dominos Pizza.

EPS's existing client base includes Coles Myer, Millers Retail, David Jones, Dick Smith Electronics and Angus & Coote, as well as leading US retailers such as Jamba Juice and Frazee Paint & Wallcovering.

"In the next six months, we will combine the key areas of functionality into one software package which is certain to be the benchmark for property management software throughout the world. We will also be adding totally new features, further enhancing functionality.

"We are confident that the new company will reflect world-class best practice in this area of software and most importantly, further assist our customers with their retail management requirements", Ramshaw said.
