Australia Post delivers to Coles Online
Australia Post and Coles Online, Coles Myer’s e-commerce
grocery business, have signed a five-year partnership agreement that
will see Australia Post manage the entire customer order fulfilment
process for the online grocer.
The deal extends Australia Post’s role with Coles Online
which until now was limited to delivering customer orders.

A tale of two retail projects
The retail element of Melbourne’s CBD is about to be
transformed by two mixed use redevelopments, Melbourne Central and
QV, both planning to make much of the area’s hallowed laneway
character.
And though Melbourne Central will be turned literally “inside
out” at a cost of $195 million, it will be business as usual
for the 160 specialty stores who have seen the ill-fated major
tenant, Dai Maru department store, come –and go from their

Australand’s retail space in demand
Australand Holdings has recently announced two retail sales at its
$255 million mixed-use Regency project in Sydney’s North Shore
area of Chatswood.
One purchaser is US real estate giant Coldwell Banker which
continues to boost its presence in the Australian market. Its
shopfront presence in NSW now totals eight agencies, following the
acquisition of a retail space at Regency Chatswood.

Macquarie goes up Marketplace
Everything from improved lighting and seating to a new team of
tenants is transforming the Fresh Food Marketplace at Sydney’s
Macquarie Centre.
“The new-look Macquarie Centre Fresh Food Marketplace will
provide a much wider range of retail outlets, including some of
Sydney’s leading operators, ” says centre manager Warwick

Talking Technical: Kellogg streamlines supply chain systems
U.S.-based Kellogg has successfully fed nearly 80% of its Morning
Foods volume into the UCCnet GLOBALregistry and synchronised data
information with leading U.S. retailers Wal-Mart and Wegmans.
The exercise represents a significant achievement in supply chain
techniques, involving as it does two leading American retailers and
Kellogg, the world’s leading producer of cereal which last year
earned $US8bn sales worldwide.

Stores with feet too firmly on ground floor
Nine out of 10 Australian retail stores are underperforming in
terms of sales conversion according to a national customer traffic
expert.

Fraud ‘not fully understood’
Many retailers don’t fully understand the true extent of
fraud, whether perpetrated internally or externally - it’s a
very insidious activity according to Gordon Clubb, managing director
of business intelligence company SAS.
“Some frauds will never be uncovered unless you know what
you’re looking for,” he says.

Noni B boosts profit and dividend
Noni B Ltd, the retail fashion company, will mark its 25th
anniversary with a fully franked special dividend of 5.0 cents a
share. This special dividend, payable on December 18 this year to
shareholders on the register at December 6, is in addition to
fully franked dividends totalling 7 cents paid for the year to June
30 this year.
